 Hey everyone! My name is Viktoria Baklan and I am an aspiring attorney and writer. I have also wanted to pursue becoming a professor and may do that in the future. Like many of us, I would like to be an author one day and share my ideas with the world. I believe that writing is a portal to another world, birthed from our ideas, one where our words fully form and come into life. Literature is an art form, and words have the power to create. Just like life, words can be created into any and everything we desire such as new perspectives, beings, places, and experiences. It is one thing that transcends time, where we can share with each other and create community. 




It is a pleasure to be surrounded by so many talented peers and to see how each of us are unique and contribute in our own ways!

There should be a balance where students can exercise their critical thinking skills and be able to formulate their own opinions and judgments without the help of artificial intelligence or other assistances. Creating a Myth 💫

Creating a myth differs immensely then reading a myth because it requires analyzing and taking into consideration the world, people, and common questions that we may all share. Although it may seem like myths are just whimsical pieces of story telling, in my opinion, all of the myths we read in class from Myth and Knowing did touch on questions we all share. These myths delved into who we are and how we came to be, or why certain human characteristics occur or are common. Thus, embarking on finding a question that we may all share was actually hard. At times, I wondered if the question(s) I had, were only ones that came to my mind or if others wondered them as well. Yes, myths have been passed on for generations, but how did the creators of these old myths that we read today know which questions to answer? Art of Poetry

    In my small little room in Los Feliz, I remember writing endlessly. Scribbles and scrabbles of thoughts, experiences, and memories. Excited, I sat with my cat , as I transported us into a different realm.  As my pen hit the paper, each letter flowed into each other like a river stream, and formed a living breathing being…. But that was almost fifteen years ago when time was abundant and no rhyme or form existed.  Now, in school I have learned so many new things about reading, writing and the technical things that come with it. In my opinion, poetry is more easier to write about, because all essays, no matter what kind they are have a basic outline to follow - introduction, body paragraphs, conclusion. However, poetry does not really have outlines. Poetry has various forms, and it is like a beautiful math equation that is complex but fruitful once you accomplish it.
